<span style="font-family: Arial"><h2 style="text-align: center"><font size="6"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success, Inclusion & Belonging</span></font></h2><h3 style="text-align: center"><font size="6"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Student Affairs</span></font></h3><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma"><br><h4>Job Summary</h4>Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, serves on the Student Affairs Leadership Team and provides executive leadership for Student Success, Inclusion &amp; Belonging (SSIB) units, programs, services, and initiatives across Student Affairs. Serves as a leader on issues related to student success, student engagement, equitable practices, inclusion, and belonging by representing Student Affairs in various collaborations and partnerships both across campus and in the community. Represent the Vice Chancellor, as needed.<h4><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Duties &amp; Responsibilities</span></font></h4><ul><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Provide administrative, programmatic, budgetary, facility, and staffing oversight for the following units: Student Success, Inclusion &amp; Belonging Administration, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Success, Inclusion &amp; Belonging, Asian American Cultural Center; Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center; The Career Center; The Center for Civic Education &amp; Justice; Fraternity and Sorority Affairs; Gender &amp; Sexuality Resource Center; Illinois Leadership Center; Illinois Student Council/Student Trustee; International Education; La Casa Cultural Latina; The Michael L. Jefferies, Sr. Center for Access and Academic Success; Native American House; New Student &amp; Family Experiences; Salaam Middle East &amp; North Africa Cultural Center; Student Engagement (Student Organizations, Sustainability); Spirit and Traditions; Testing Center; and Women’s Resources Center.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Provide campus leadership with campus partners (including Student Affairs units, Enrollment Management, Office of Access, Civil Rights and Community, Office of the Provost, academic colleges, etc.) in developing strategic initiatives to enhance the recruitment, retention, persistence, graduation, career readiness and continued success of students, especially first-generation, marginalized, and historically underrepresented student populations.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Provide leadership on policy development and implementation related to student success, student engagement, facility management (SSIB units), and risk management.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Advocate and develop evidence-based policies and practices that foster a sense of belonging and cultivate an inclusive environment for students to learn, grow, develop, and succeed in a global context.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Develop a campus-wide strategy for developing students' career readiness by leveraging and connecting curricular and co-curricular experiences.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Promote opportunities for academic partnerships to enhance experiences between students and faculty.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Promote assessment strategies to leverage data in decision making.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Engage alumni and assist with soliciting gifts, grants, and contacts to help advance SSIB’s mission.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Serve on campus committees, taskforces, and steering groups.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.</span></font></li></ul><h4><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Minimum Qualifications</span></font></h4><p><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma"><span style="text-decoration: underline">Education:</span></span></font></p><ul><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Master's degree in Education, Student Development, Student Personnel, or related field. </span></font></li></ul><p><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma"><span style="text-decoration: underline">Experience:</span></span></font></p><ul><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">A minimum of 10 years of experience providing vision, leadership and management in higher education, with 7 years of progressive leadership experience. </span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Experience in Student Affairs administration, specifically related to student success, engagement, equitable practices, inclusion, and belonging. </span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Experience in supervising full-time professional staff. </span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Ability to think strategically and problem solve related to emerging trends and issues in higher education. </span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Demonstrated experience in leading meetings and facilitating processes. </span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Demonstrated experience working effectively with students, faculty, staff and the public from a wide range of backgrounds. </span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Experience in developing, presenting, and marketing of programs, workshops, classes, and trainings. </span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Experience managing budgets with multiple funding sources.</span></font></li></ul><h4><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma"> Preferred Qualifications</span></font></h4><p><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma"><span style="text-decoration: underline">Education:</span></span></font></p><ul><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration, or related field.<br></span></font></li></ul><p><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma"><span style="text-decoration: underline">Experience:</span></span></font></p><ul><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Ability to navigate complex, decentralized collegiate/university organizational structures.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Experience working with faculty to enhance the student experience.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Managing student services facilities.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Experience with assessment of programs and services.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Experience with alumni relations and fundraising.</span></font></li></ul><h4><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</span></font></h4><ul><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Knowledge of student development theory, including marginalized and historically underrepresented student populations.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Knowledge of strategies for recruitment, retention, persistence, and graduation of marginalized and historically underrepresented populations at a predominantly white institution.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Knowledge of university policies and processes related to state and federal compliance.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Effective communication skills that adapt to suit different audiences.</span></font></li><li><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Effective interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across the campus and the community.</span></font></li></ul></span></font><h4><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">Appointment Information</span></font></h4><p><font size="3"><span style="font-family: Tahoma">This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 6/1/2026.
