Qualifications

Working independently as a journeyman in the installation, operation, repair and maintenance of the more difficult and complex tasks of refrigeration and air conditioning trade; Installing, troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance and repairing HVAC / Refrigeration equipment and controls; and Using tools, equipment and materials used in HVAC / Refrigeration and exhaust systems. EPA CERTIFICATION: In accordance with 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F, EPA, people working in this type of position must have and maintain proper EPA Certifications for working with refrigerants. You must have these EPA Certification Types I, II and III in order to meet the requirements of this position. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: May be required to bend, reach and hold awkward positions for prolonged periods. Frequently works from ladders, platforms, high places and cramped spaces. Considerable climbing, walking and stooping is also required for this position. Frequently lifts and moves objects up to 50lbs., and occasionally lifts and carries objects over 50lbs. either alone or with others. Works indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, and is exposed to the usual occupational hazards. Required to work in close, extremely hot or cold places and around high voltage electricity. Must work in noisy, dusty and humid places. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
