Senior Network Engineer - TS/SCI with Polygraph
Location: Springfield, VA (Customer Site) Travel: Approximately 25% Clearance: Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a Polygraph Citizenship: US Citizenship Required GDIT has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Network Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community customers wide-area (WAN), local-area (LAN), and campus-area (CAN) networks across multiple security domains. In this role, you will support new engineering initiatives, lead efforts around network modernization, and ensure the sustained operation of missioncritical infrastructure. Responsibilities: Coordinate system maintenance, monitoring, and installation activities across diverse WAN/LAN environments and technologies. Research, recommend, and implement enterprise network capabilities and enhancements aligned with mission and business objectives. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with network media, components, and connectivity. Evaluate and monitor network health, performance, and hardware/software effectiveness. Develop and maintain technical roadmaps for network capabilities, operations, and technologies. Create and execute detailed test plans and documentation for all network configuration changes, upgrades, and additions. Support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization to meet performance and availability targets. Assess and provide recommendations on emerging network and communication technologies. Recommend upgrades and changes aligned with industry standards and best practices. Adhere to all customer network security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Represent customer requirements and priorities during technical exchanges with partner agencies. Conduct site surveys for new installations and technology refresh initiatives. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot satellite communications equipment. Create and maintain network architecture diagrams.
Required Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a Polygraph BS degree or equivalent experience 8+ years of hands-on experience with network and transport technologies, tools, and techniques 4+ years supporting large-scale enterprise or global networks in a fastpaced, diverse environment Active 8570/8140 Approved IAT II certification required Working knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework and related DoW network architecture guidance Experience with Juniper network devices (MX, EX, SRX) and cryptographic devices (KG175G/X, KG245A/X) Proficiency with network analysis tools (HP/Microfocus NA/NNM, Juniper Secure Analytics, Infoblox, Riverbed) Experience with Juniper firewall/VPN technologies (SRX series) Experience supporting IP services for NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS (IPv4/IPv6, VPN, Multicast, QoS, SDN, SNMP, VOIP, VTC, etc.) Strong understanding of OSPF, BGP, MPLS, RSVP/LDP Layer 2/3 VPNs, VRFs, IKE/IPSec, GRE tunnels, MTU, FTP, and routing policy frameworks
Desired Qualifications: Masters degree in Computer Science or related field Professional certifications such as JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, CCNP, CCVP, CCNA, or CCDP ITIL v3 Foundations ISC2 CISSP
